Dear families,

I can’t believe we are entering the final quarter of the school year!  There is still a lot of work to be done to get ready for second grade.  As always, attendance and effort is paramount!  Please continue to work hard through the end of the year so that all students learn the most they can and set themselves up for success next year.

Please be aware of  “summer slide.”  This is the loss of academic knowledge and skills during summer break.  This regression is prevalent in a majority of students, especially at the elementary level.  To help prevent “summer slide,” we will be having a family event in June.  During this time, you will see your child’s current level of performance and receive activities, games, materials and more!  These will all be personalized to your child’s level.  You will be able to use this throughout the summer to help prevent academic regression and even increase their skills.  More information to come!

Queridas familias,

¡No puedo creer que estemos entrando al último trimestre del año escolar!  Todavía queda mucho trabajo por hacer para prepararnos para el segundo grado.  ¡Como siempre, la asistencia y el esfuerzo es primordial!  Continúe trabajando duro hasta el final del año para que todos los estudiantes aprendan lo máximo que puedan y se preparen para el éxito el próximo año.

Tenga en cuenta el "deslizamiento de verano".  Se trata de la pérdida de conocimientos y habilidades académicas durante las vacaciones de verano.  Esta regresión prevalece en la mayoría de los estudiantes, especialmente en el nivel elemental.  Para ayudar a prevenir el “deslizamiento del verano”, tendremos un evento familiar en junio.  Durante este tiempo, verá el nivel actual de desempeño de su hijo y recibirá actividades, juegos, materiales y más.  Todos estos se personalizarán según el nivel de su hijo.  Podrás utilizar esto durante todo el verano para ayudar a prevenir la regresión académica e incluso aumentar sus habilidades.  ¡Más información próximamente!
